Tall Ships on the Clyde

The Tall Sips visited Greenock on the Firth of Clyde, Scotland in July 2011. These are images from the "parade of sail" when the ships leave for the next stage of their voyage. The Clyde of course has a very famous shipbuilding history including the Queen Mary and the QE II. At one time over half the world's shipbuilding was located on the Clyde. Now only the occasional warship is constructed.

The Waverley paddle steamer is the last ocean going paddle steamer in the world. It is not part of the Tall Ships but spends most summers on the Clyde.
